The Annaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) sets a new precedent for the transportation hub, and transforms a key area of the city into a friendly destination for pedestrians and bicycles. ARTIC connects more than ten types of transportation in an efficient and flexible facility, including future high -speed railways, and provides retail, characteristic catering and community space in this area that was once defined by automobiles.
The flexible station design and overall planning expand the definition of transportation, incorporating it into a greater vision, that is, the future of more cities and mixed uses. The station is not just a station. Inspired by the iconic transportation facilities such as the initial Pennsylvania station in New York City, through the new focus of the city, it changed the public's concept of transportation. By competing design language, the design team has set up a stage for the cultural and economic transformation of a key area in Southern California.
As one of the most advanced transportation centers in the world, ARTIC serves the public interest and adopts a high -tech ETFE system to achieve the largest lighting and environmental control. Each aspect of the design has carefully considered its energy and environmental performance. The ETFE main shell of the building is combined with the operable shutter windows of the north -south curtain wall, which is matched with the heating and cooling floor radiation technology, providing a comfortable and natural indoor environment. Through the close and continuous cooperation between architects, engineers, and stakeholders, and successful use of BIM at all stages, the team can reduce the energy consumption of the project by 50%.
